Siemens Q2 net rises 53 percent to

Mumbai: Heavy electrical equipment maker Siemens today said its net profit grew 53.34 percent to
277.68 crore in the second quarter ended March 31, 2011, over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had net profit of Rs 181.08 crore in the March quarter last fiscal, Siemens said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Net income of the company increased to
3,033.72 crore in the quarter under review from
2,212.42 crore during the same period previous year, it said.
For the six-month period ended March 31, 2011, net profit rose to
522.33 crore from
419.61 crore in the half-yearly period previous year.
Net income jumped up to
5,599.71 crore in the six-month period under review from
4,079.49 crore during the same period last fiscal.
Shares of the company closed at
862.95, marginally up from the previous close on the BSE.
