New Delhi: Among the top taxpayers of the country, Mayawati, Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar top the list in their respective fields. Looking at the huge amounts these public figures have to pay as tax, we can guess their income in a year.

BSP Chief and UP Chief Minister Mayawati paid more than 26 crore to income tax department and she is at no. 20 in the list. Reportedly, most of her income apparently comes from "gifts" from her supporters. Her income is estimated to be around Rs 75-80 crore.

Shah Rukh Khan, the King Khan of Bollywood paid 34 crore as income tax and stands at no. 13. He is the highest income taxpayer among actors and also five spots higher than Mayawati. His ever-increasing bank-balance is the result of the number of hit movies he delivers every year.

Sachin Tendulkar is at no. 81 and he is the only cricketer to appear in the list. He had to shell out almost 9 crore as tax, according to the I-T department's compilation of the top 200 taxpayers' list.

Surprisingly, industrialists Anil and Mukesh Ambani do not appear in the list this year, while their mother Kokilaben, barely makes it to the list at 195. She had to pay Rs 4.46 crore as tax. Among industrialists, Max's Analjit Singh tops the list paying Rs 31.49 crore as tax. He is at no. 15.

Country's top taxpayer is from Delhi who paid a whopping amount of 121 crore as tax. Among the top ten taxpayers of the country, five are from Mumbai and two from Delhi.
