Bangalore: With several vicissitudes, 2011 is foraying to an end. The market witnessed several dramas of new companies opening, some shutting down their services and several others being merged or acquired by other companies. Below mentioned are few such acquisitions of 2011.
Yatra Online Acquired MagicRooms
The Gurgaon-based Yatra Online acquired Bangalore-based MagicRooms Solutions on August 2011. MagicRooms was founded by Niranjan Gupta in 2009 and is an online platform offering online hotel bookings, where as Yatra Online is an online travel company providing information, pricing, availability and booking facility for domestic and international air travel, railway reservation, hotel bookings, holiday packages, and several others. Yatra online was founded in 2006 by Dhruv Shringi and Manish Amin. With a motive to compete with MakeMyTrip and Cleartrip, Yatra acquired MagicRoom.
