Bangalore: Magma Design Automation, a chip design software provider has announced the 'Best Paper' winners list for Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits (MUSIC) India, which was held on April 16, 2009. The top paper award went to Sai Dhiraj Korada of Qualcomm for his paper titled 'Multi-Mode/Multi-Corner Techniques for 45-nm Designs Using Talus(r)'. The winning papers were selected by conference attendees and the MUSIC Technical Program Committee from a field of papers presented by Magma users from leading technology companies, including ARM, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments. With Indian engineers showing more interest towards chip development, an event of this kind was appealing. "India is emerging as a key technology and design hub for integrated circuits. We are seeing more complex analog and digital designs, and also more physical design being done in India," said Vivek Raghavan, Vice President of R&D, Magma India. "The abstracts submitted were brilliant, indicating that the semiconductor industry in India is indeed working on cutting-edge designs and issues," said Professor V. Kamkoti of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Madras and MUSIC India Chairman. "The abstracts that we selected for presentation attracted many thought provoking questions from the audience, and some of them revealed very interesting issues for research," Kamkoti added.
