Bangalore: Juniper Networks Inc. informed that earnings for the Q4 of 2011 were $1.11 - $1.12 billion. Juniper says the less demand for the service provider routers was the main reason of less earnings and that’s why the company suffered with this trim down.

Though analysts expected the earnings per share to be 34 cents but it missed the target and came down to 26 to 28 cents. Non-GAAP earnings per share crossed the margin is expected to be below 21 – 23 percent that is below previous guidance. Its shares were 6.5 percent down at $20.14 on 8th of January. According to the Juniper’s report, the less than expected demand from the U.S. service provider routers became a significant note and thus causing harm to Juniper’s fiscal hold. But the company still claims that this problem of less demand is worldwide.

Juniper’s CEO Kevin Johnson said in a statement, “2011 was a record year of revenue for Juniper, even though our fourth quarter revenue was weaker than expected due to service provider demand. We remain committed to our strategy of innovation in high-performance networking as we continue to manage costs and drive excellence in execution.”
