Jeevanti Healthcare raises $2.2 Million in Series A Funding

Mumbai: Jeevanti Healthcare, based in Mumbai, raises $2.2 million in its first round of funding from Seedfund. Established by entrepreneurs Arun Diaz and Deepa Chandrashekhar, the company looks forward to start small-scale or secondary hospitals in Tier II and Tier III cities in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The entrepreneurs currently run the Apollo Clinic, a franchisee of the premier Apollo Group, in Thane, Mumbai and plan to provide quality medical facilities in under-served areas through Jeevanti. An Indian social sector advisory firm, Intellecap, was the sole advisor to this transaction. Seedfund focus on companies operating in segments like Internet, mobile, retail, consumer media and technology. It has a similar investment in Vaatsalya Healthcare, which caters to rural healthcare. It provides funding for seed-stage capital requirements and investment size ranges from $0.22 million to $1.1 million. Founded in 2006 by Bharati Jacob, Mahesh Murthy and Pravin Gandhi, it currently has operations in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi. The team members now include Anand Lunia, Paula Mariwala, Sanjay Anandaram and Shailesh Vickram Singh. The investees of Seedfund include AFAQS, CarWale, EduSports, Healthizen, Ixsight, Lifeblob, Printo, RedBus, RupeeTalk, ThinkLabs, Vaatsalya and Uhuroo.
