It's Raining Funds On Mobile Apps

Fremont: Mobile apps have become the hot and happening arena for venture capitalists, owing to their popularity and the large number of downloads. Here are few of the well known mobile apps which have garnered VC funding.

Outfit7, the maker of the Talking Tom Cat, and other talking character apps, raised $3.5 million from the Co-Founder of Playdom, Rick Thompson, Comcast Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, IDG Ventures, Felicis Ventures, Bayview Capital and Francisco Larrin (A Director of Engineering at Groupon).  Outfit7 was founded by Samo Login, and has one of the largest distribution networks on the iOS and Android platform. The fund was raised to fuel Nabergoj’s next startup Iddiction. Headquartered in Lomassol, Cyprus, Outfit7 has subsidiaries in Palo Alto, California and Ljubljana, Slovenia. Its Talking Tom Cat has more than 40 million downloads and has released twelve Talking Friends apps.
