Infibeam Expands Logistics To Mumbai And Bangalore

Bangalore: The ecommerce site Infibeam has expanded its logistics, Infibeam Logistics (IL), its in-house last mile logistics delivery network from Delhi to Mumbai and Bangalore. The Ahmedabad-based ecommerce portal is trying to reiterate the success of its logistic in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida, it tries to explore the two cities that are the hub of ecommerce in India. Infibeam plans to extend its serving to ten more cities by 2012. The company is rapidly scaling plans while continuing to deliver shipments using high quality delivery agents; both in-house and third party.

Founded in 2007 by ex-Amazon employees with experience in ecommerce and technology, Infibeam serves a selection of more than 120 lakh products across books, media, lifestyle, gifts, electronics and automobiles. The company is also known for its innovative navigation, lowest price, free shipping and dedicated customer services. It also provides ecommerce and interactive marketing services to brands, retailers and media companies in India and internationally. It also offers a wide range of Web store management tools along with a host of services such as fulfillment, interactive marketing and online advertising and design. Few of the clientele includes Crossword, NDTV, K Sera Sera, Hidesign, TTK Prestige and many more.

Recently the site launched a Do-it-yourself ecommerce platform for merchants and sellers that provides the necessary ecommerce technology, and payment and data infrastructure to create a store within minutes. Headquartered in Ahmedabad, Infibeam has 350 employees based out of offices in Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. The leadership team consists of MIT, IIM and IIT graduates amongst others with more than 100 years of combined experience in Retail and ecommerce.

Infibeam provides cash on delivery, payment collection and other value added services to the customers placing orders on Infibeam.com. The expansion was planned to provide enhanced customer experience looking at the density of demand originating from these cities. Since the launch of the service, IL has already delivered thousands of packages to customers in Delhi and NCR region and is building up on the last mile delivery network by hiring more delivery agents and expanding to other cities across India.

Sachin Dala, Head Infibeam Logistics, said that as they extend their in-house logistics services to Bangalore and Mumbai, they expect to improve the delivery times and overall customer experience. The company plans to build its own logistics platform and extend capabilities in other cities including Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and many more.
