Bangalore: Indian software major Sanovi Technologies Friday opened its subsidiary in Dubai to market its enterprise disaster recovery management (DRM) products in the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and African countries.

"We have set up our wholly-owned subsidiary - UAE Sanovi Technologies JLT in Dubai to tap the huge market potential and advance our business prospects in the Middle East and Africa regions," Sanovi Chief Executive Chandra Pulamarasetti said in a statement here.

Bangalore-based Sanovi has already bagged some major clients in the region, including Saudi Arabian Airlines, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Ahli United Bank and AW Rostamani for providing disaster recovery solutions on a long-term basis.

"Opportunity to market our software tools is very good in the region as medium and large enterprises have shown interest in deploying disaster recovery software solutions in their operations and delivery execution," Pulamarasetti said.

Encouraged by the initial response to its suite of products in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain, the company plans to hire more local professionals to hardsell its offerings across verticals in both the regions.

"Our software products will also enable cloud computing and IT infrastructure providers to offer remote DRM services to their customers in industry verticals such as banking, insurance, manufacturing, energy and government organizations," company's Chief Financial Officer Ramakrishnan Narayanan said in the statement.

The company's products help enterprises standardise their disaster recovery (DR) solutions and deploy best practices. They also help in providing DR transparent services to business groups, while enabling an agile DR infrastructure.

"Over 60 large enterprises, including many Fortune 500 firms are using our products to manage their DR programme," Narayanan added.
