IBM signs $62 Million IT services deal with Jet Airways

Mumbai: IBM, the global information technology solutions major, has bagged a 10- year business transformation and IT services deal worth $62 million (285 crore) from Jet Airways. As part of the deal, IBM will provide technology solutions to transform the airline's business areas such as airport operations, direct distribution and frequent flier programs. "This association will enable us to focus on our core business and improve our operational efficiencies, besides delivering a seamless customer experience", said Nikos Kardasis, Chief Executive Officer, Jet Airways (India). IBM will support Jet Airways with IT Infrastructure and application support services including employee transition, data center operations, central helpdesk support, server and storage operations, internet security services through the use of Tivoli suite, network management, SAP and other operating system. "Jet Airways will have access to industry expertise and knowledge, which are essential for sustaining growth and leadership in the competitive global market", said Sameer Batra, Vice President, Distribution Sector, IBM India/South Asia. This agreement with Jet Airways is a significant milestone for IBM in aviation industry, he added.
