Geeta Menon named as Dean of Leonard N. Stern School of Business

New York: Geeta Menon, Abraham Krasnoff Professor of Global Business and professor of marketing at NYU, has been named as the dean of the undergraduate college of the Leonard N. Stern School of Business. She will take up the post on July 15. Geeta Menon is basically from Chennai and has received a BA in economics from Stella Maris College in 1981, an MA in economics from Madras Christian College and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991. She has joined as the faculty at NYU in 1990. Before joining, Geeta was a research executive at the Indian Market Research Bureau in Delhi. After joining NYU, she has also held appointments as a visiting scholar at the Indian Institute of Management, a visiting scholar at Stanford Business School, a visiting professor at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, and the Laura and John J. Pomerantz Professor of Marketing at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Menon is the current elected President of the Association for Consumer Research (ACR) and has served on the Board of Directors of ACR in the role of Treasurer in 2006. She was also the co-chair of the 2004 annual ACR conference. Currently she serves as an Associate Editor at two premiere marketing journals: the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing Research.
