Enzen launches its ERP solution to cap power distribution losses
Bangalore: Enzen Global Solutions, which provides knowledge solutions for the power, gas and water sectors, has launched its ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution in association with Micrososft, for Indian power distribution companies. Enzen's ERP solution called Integrated Distribution Management Solution (iDMS) will reduce AT&C (aggregate technical and commercial) losses. According to the data on AT&C losses of various state electricity boards, compiled by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), most of the utilities continue to post AT&C losses ranging between 20 percent and 60 percent of the turnover. Recognizing the urgent need for automation in the power distribution sector, Enzen Global has come up with iDMS which will automate and control information accessibility to the distribution sector that is struggling to cap its losses. The Rewari Division of DHBVNL (Dakshin Haryana Bijili Vitaran Nigam) is the first power distribution company in India to go live with this ERP solution. Developed in partnership with the Integrated Distribution Management Solution (iDMS), iDMS will be offered both as a licence model and a SaaS model. John Jacob, Head, Product Research, Enzen Global Solutions, said, "The degree of coordination and information accessibility required in this time-sensitive sector cannot be neglected, especially given the high AT&C losses. The restructured power reforms programme, Accelerated Power Development and Reform Program (APDRP), launched with a total outlay of 51,000 crores (of which 10,000 crores is for IT and related automation) aims to reduce the AT&C losses to 15 percent."
