CtrlS Opens Second Tier IV Datacenter in Mumbai

Mumbai: CtrlS Datacenters, an India-based tier IV class datacenter infrastructure provider, has setup its second tier IV datacenter at Mahape in Mumbai. Spread over 2,10,000 sq ft area and with a capacity of 7000 server racks, the datacenter claimed to be the largest tier IV datacenter in the country, reports Pankaj Maru of Cyber Media. Milton Sikder, CtrlS' Principal Solution Architect said, "It's India's largest datacenter and has the extra high voltage (EHV) power supply from two sub stations that provide uninterrupted power". The datacenter construction is in its final stage and the services would be rolled out by the end of January 2011, he added. In order to fulfill additional power requirements, the datacenter also co-generate power, using the gas supplied from GAIL. The excess power will be sent back to the power stations. The construction of the datacenter is likely to be completed by November end. Once it's done the pilot trails will also be carried out. Headquartered in Hyderabad, CtrlS Datacenters serves some 250 customers which include large and mid-size enterprises. Earlier this year, it secured 250 crore funds from a consortium of Indian banks which included Allahabad Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank and State Bank of Hyderabad. Also, the promoters had raised 250 crore of equity capital. The company is also looking to build another datacenter in Delhi in the next fiscal, which will be the second largest datacenter in the country.
