Corporate India using cloud computing to evade tax

The concept, known as cloud computing, allows a customer to use distant servers to store and manage data. The service is cost-effective and increasingly becoming popular. However, the Finance Minister has formed a high-level committee to study the Information Technology Act (IT) and suggest amendments that will make it compulsory for firms and individuals to maintain mirror servers in India.
According to DNA, secret Finance Ministry report on the subject says, "Enforcement agencies have been finding it difficult to retrieve data stored on servers outside India. Several Indian tax-evaders have also started using this method. Even if the data is obtained on request, it doesn't help investigation since it is not possible to cross-check the data which is stored on overseas servers."
The committee, that is considering amendments to the IT Act includes top officials from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Customs, Enforcement Directorate, Income-Tax, Serious Fraud Investigation Office and Intelligence Bureau.
The Bangalore unit of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has written about the new concept in its report to the finance ministry. A senior DRI official in Bangalore said, "It's a major source of worry. Earlier, we used to find MNCs doing this. Now, we have found evidence to suggest that Indian businessmen are using web-based server facility to store data. This makes the task of curbing white collar fraud all the more difficult."

Its not right to say "corporate India", which points to all the corporates. All are not doing this. The ministry if has found any such thing then let them put the matter very clearly with definite names for clarity. They should not create such confusion for the masses and and for any new technology which comes up. Let them put the names very clearly of those who they have found doing this.

I think apart from maintaining such distributed computing even the proxy servers may be deployed with some softwares which directly monitors the confidentiaty etc just like the some of the site are blocked with limited access.

Don't Use the word SHAME. Think before using it. If I am paying the Taxes correctly, Will the poor get benefited from it. NEVER. Because it all goes to the pockets of POLITICIANS and from there to SWISS BANKS. Do any POLITICAL BASTARD speaks about the money in the SWISS BANKS. No they will never speak about it. Because it is the CORRUPTED MONEY of these POLITICAL BASTARDS. So we should never pay even a Single PAISE as TAX. Let the INDIAN GOVERNMENT do what they can?

I wouldn't call it shame.. People might have started using it because the advantage of cloud computing is 99.9% system availability..
If IT industry has taken this as a serious concern.. its a good concern.. though a million rupee question is "Does the Indian Government pay any attention to return the favor to Indians who pay such a high amount of tax"
I don's mind paying tax but am I getting any advantage (as an Indian) of these taxes. Forget selflessness.. what is done for the poor. Has anyone questioned government about the expenses made on tax recovered. The corruption at each level in govt enterprises is so high and complicated that each Indian faces it to get things done... This is our misery.
If Indian govt starts spending the tax collection effectively for people's development, I would say people would not mind paying taxes.. After all businessmen are intelligent and they know the concept of ROI... Don't they.
Before terming any of the event as shameful or not.. let me be very clear.. we don't have any judging capability to set those terms... Let be very frank in our discussion and think for the betterment of Indians...

Well we must discus all the pros and cons of these systems in open. Its all there and working, but it happens only when it comes to limelight. All big fishes are doing it. Its our moral duty to discuss these things before someone from Government, highlights such practices.
