Classteacher.com raises $15 Million from Fidelity Growth Partners
Delhi: Delhi-based Mind Shaper Technologies, which runs virtual classroom Classteacher.com, has raised $15 million funding from Fidelity Growth Partners India (FGPI). The fund will be utilized for further expand the company's product portfolio and strengthen Classteacher's role as an organization that combines technology and innovation as part of its commitment to education. Following the deal, Kabir Narang and Rahul Rai of FIL Capital Advisors (India), which is the PE advisory company for FGPI, will join the board of Mind Shaper. Narang said that they are excited to collaborate with Mind Shaper Technologies and be a part of the large and growing education sector. Rohit Pande and Sameer Buti, who are professionals from IIT and IIM, founded Classteacher Learning Systems in 1999. Today it has a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals. It provides technology solutions to primary and secondary schools. It has over 500 schools and more than half a million students using their technology. Classteacher provides digital solutions in the K-12 education segment, and provides consultancy services to schools in deploying them for management and administration, and in teaching and evaluation. Its products include interactive classrooms, online assessment solutions, solutions for setting up math, science and language labs, a web based learning system and a portal for networking schools, parents and students, among others. It provides software and hardware solutions for schools to assist them in management, administration, productivity and communication. They also offer 'Virtual School' which is an internet-based platform to connect students, parents and schools. Rohit Pande, CEO, Classteacher.com, said that the investment will help them boost their product offering as well as expand into new segments of education. Other players in the digital education solutions sector include Educomp and TutorVista.
