Capillary Technologies secures $100,000 in seed funding

Bangalore: Bangalore-based start-up Capillary Technologies, which offers mobile-based customer management solutions for retail has secured $100,000 as seed money for the company, after being the India winner of Qualcomm Ventures' international business plan competition, Qprize. As reported by VCCIRCLE, Aneesh Reddy, Co-founder and Director of Business Development, Capillary, said, "We are planning to add coffee retail and quick service restaurants, consumer durables and mobile outlets, entertainment and leisure and grocery retail." The other Co-founder is Krishna Mehra, who is the Director of Technology at the firm. Started in November 2008, the IIT Kharagpur incubated Capillary provides mobile based customer management solutions (called !nTouch) to retail industry on a SaaS model. As per the company, !n Touch captures data from the point of sales (POS) and ensures an ability to integrate with any POS/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System in under an hour, enabling easy and quick set up of the system. It is also stated by the company that !n Touch mobile voucher platform comes enabled with modules to issue vouchers based on multiple business rules and to redeem the vouchers in a quick and fraud proof fashion. The SMS/Email campaigns module with pre-configured campaigns (quizzes, auctions, voting, polls, reverse auctions, one liner contests, SMS voucher and many more) make shopping more interactive and increases the customer engagement. Currently, there are about 10 employees in the company. According to the company, it prides itself in providing its clients cost effective and insight driven means to understand their customers, appreciate their preferences and gain insight into their thought, by generating analytics based ideas to ensure a superior retail experience. It has nine clients in its portfolio with over 200 outlets across 75 cities in India. Its clients include Madura Garments brands like Peter England and People; Future Group promoted Indus-League clothing brands like John Miller, Urban Yoga and Jealous 21.
