Braille Touch Enables Blind Texting

Bangalore: The era of QWERTY keypads and touchscreens on phones has made texting without seeing one’s phone inevitable. But what if you could text without ever looking at your phone?

Researchers from the Georgia tech university have made this prospect viable now, with their app called ‘Braille Touch’ for the smartphones with touchscreens.

This is not the first time a venture of this sort has been attempted though, with a student coming up with a similar app for tablets late last year. Braille Touch, in comparison, makes things truly “handy” for the visually challenged, by bringing them the app on a mobile screen which has lesser space to get confused on.

What is the scope of Braille Touch?
