Boeing to acquire internet security firm Narus
Sunnyvale: Network security firm Narus will soon be acquired by Boeing, a major aerospace and defense corporation. Narus offers analytical software and network traffic to assist Internet Protocol networks during cyber assaults. The acquisition is built on a strong partnership based on both the companies and it will increase the cyber security business for Boeing. Roger Krone, an executive in Boeing's defense, space and security unit said, "Boeing's purchase of Narus was a step forward in its strategy to develop integrated solutions for better network visibility, threat detection and cyber security." It is anticipated that the deal, for which the amount remains undisclosed, will be finalized in the third quarter. After the completion of the deal, Narus will function as subsidiary in Boeing's Network & Space Systems business. Boeing's smart grid energy network, security of Boeing's ground, air and space products will be handled and defended by Narus's technology.
