San Francisco: Asha for Education, announced that it shall host the annual "Film Festival of Hope" on August 15 from 1pm - 12 am in San Francisco. Through blockbuster Bollywood films, documentary films & a festive atmosphere, this festival will paint a picture for improving the lives of underprivileged kids in today's India with a 'hope' of bringing them a better tomorrow. Asha San Francisco has brought together an exciting line-up of films this year, including SlumDog Millionaire, Smile Pinki, Water, Sita Sings the blues, The Final Inch, 99, and others. Bucking general economy woes, tickets for this years Film Festival of Hope are selling fast. "Our focus this is year is to sustain our message of hope. Through these trailblazer films, we endeavor to raise social awareness, funds for projects, celebrate the world's largest democracy's 62nd Independence Day. Most importantly, we endeavor to bring the community together to use our collective energies to make a positive difference, by enjoying some fun & uplifting movies together," say festival representatives who have formed partnerships with several San Francisco Bay Area partner and sponsor organizations. Of these selections, "SlumDog Millionaire" won the Oscars for best film this year, and "Smile Pinki" won the best documentary film award also at the Oscars. All of the funds that are raised during the course of the film festival will go towards the education and empowerment of underprivileged children.
