Bangalore: Each one of us has been told what to eat, what not to, what to drink, and what not to. And we were sick of listening to it. But did you know that the chocolate that our parents once told us to avoid actually staves off cancer? To make your day better, here are a few things that people always tell are bad for but are actually good and have healthy aspects to them. Recent studies have claimed, though with a disclaimer, that indulging in “bad stuff” is actually good. You can direct them to this list when someone whines at you in the future. So, go ahead and indulge in those “bad-for-you-remedies". In moderation though!

Rubber gloves are out, dirt is in! As it turns out, playing in dirt, food served with bare hands and straws that didn’t come in individual wrappers were healthier than the ones that come “sterile” today. Exposure to bacteria, viruses and parasites during childhood boosts our immune system, making us less prone to falling sick. Studies have found that children with dogs at home are at a lower risk of suffering allergies, and that social interaction reduces the risk of leukemia by a whopping thirty-five percent. So get rid of those anti-bacterial cleaners, now!
