BANGALORE: Aventail Corporation, a provider of clientless SSL VPN appliances and services, today announced that in response to Aventail's rapidly growing appliance business, the company has opened its Indian operations in Bangalore. This significant expansion and additional capital investment in product development will allow Aventail to meet the growing demand for its award-winning EX-1500 SSL VPN family of appliances. "This is an exciting time in Aventail's history and we're putting a stake in the ground to extend our market and technology leadership worldwide," said Evan Kaplan, President & CEO of Aventail Corporation. "We expect this investment to help us more fully extend our technology leadership to take advantage of the surging SSL VPN market, which is expected to grow to $1 billion in 2005." Kaplan continued, "The India team will accelerate the development of new cutting edge technology to meet the future demands of our expanding customer base. This will maximize Aventail's competitive technology position in the market, resulting in a greater return on investment for Aventail's customers, shareholders, partners, and employees." Adds Muthu Kumar, General Manager of Aventail India, "Aventail's SSL VPN technology is significantly improving how people access information from around the world. I'm excited to lead the opening of Aventail's research and development facility in India to help augment the company's commitment to delivering world-class products and services." Aventail views the new India office as an opportunity to enhance engineering capacity and to take advantage of all benefits that different time zones, international expertise, and lower costs can bring in developing its leading SSL VPN appliances. The opening of an India office coincides with Aventail adding headcount in Seattle and other North American and European offices. Aventail will be recruiting to fill development and quality assurance positions in Bangalore, and in the future will add support staff. The new India facility will open later this month. As the only SSL VPN appliance that offers a spectrum of clientless to SSL VPN persistent agents for corporate-managed computers, Aventail's patent-pending technology virtually eliminates the need to manage complex IPSec VPN clients for remote access. Backed by the sixth generation of the ASAP platform, Aventail offers a wide range of secure anywhere access methods to network resources from Internet-enabled devices. The expansive access methods, support for multiple platforms, and granular policy management enable companies to extend secure remote access from more places and to more resources at a very low total cost of ownership.
