Ashok Soota Founded Happiest Minds Raises $45 Million in Series A
Bangalore: Bangalore-based Happiest Minds, a (IT) solution and service firm, has raised $45 million in series A investment, led by VC firm Canaan partners. Intel Capital and Ashok Soota also pooled in with money. The funds would be used to deliver most advance technology solution and services, hire talented employees, setting up additional infrastructure and increase sales and marketing efforts globally. Canaan partners and Intel capital, representatives from both companies are expected to join the Happiest Minds board. Happiest Minds aims to be the fastest IT services firm from India to reach $100 million in revenue. Happiest Minds, founded in 2011 by Ashok soota and backed by other co-founders, is into research & development, software product engineering, remote infrastructure, testing and consulting. Prior to founding Happiest Minds, Ashok soota Co-Founded MindTree, and is a former President of Wipro InfoTech and Confederation of Indian Industry. Soota served on the Indian Prime Minister's task force for development of the IT industry. He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva. He did his Engineering from Roorkee University and MBA from the Asian Institute of Management Philippines. Vikram Gulati, CEO and MD of Happiest Minds, has tonnes of experience in IT services industry. Gulati was a former CEO and President of Intelligroup Inc, and has served as head of Wipro Global Enterprise Application Solutions business. He is an Electrical Engineer and has pursued MBA from Bombay University. Canaan partners invest in IT products and services, semiconductor manufacturing, health and mobility. It invests in the early and growth-stage companies. Intel Capital, Intel's global investment organization, makes equity investments in innovative technology start-ups and companies worldwide.
