9 Billionaires Facing Legal Trouble


The Kwok Brothers: Raymond Kwok and Thomas Kwok have been charged with bribing a former public official Rafael Hui. The Independent Commission against corruption has charged them for arranging to provide payments, unsecured loans and property worth $4 million to Hui. There’s one more charge of similar nature against the two brothers, that of conspiring to bribe public official Kit Hung. The brothers face additional charges of misconduct in public office and furnishing false information.They have an estimated net worth of $12.6 billion. The trial will start from 8th May 2014. Both the brothers have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Jim Irsay: The owner of Indianapolis Colts has an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion. The bulk of his wealth is derived from the football team, Indianapolis Colts, which is a member of the National Football League. He is charged with driving in an intoxicated condition. He was arrested in the Indianapolis suburb of Carmel where he failed to signal while pulling over. Later he could not clear the sobriety tests. The police found prescription drugs in his vehicle. The NFL Chairman Roger Goodell said, “He’s someone who loves this game, and he brings an important perspective to it, but that’s not the priority right now. The priority is for Jim to take care of the issues he’s facing and deal with it.”
