Bangalore: FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector has witnessed Indian executives at prominent positions globally. Listed below are 8 executives that took a big leap in the past year and have been elevated to global positions.
Harish Manwani
Harish Manwani, Chief Operating Officer, Unilever Harish Manwani, 57, started off his career with Hindustan Lever as a Manager Trainee in 1976. He was appointed as the Global COO for Unilever in June 2011. He joined the growing list of India-born executives such as, Pepsi CEO, Indra Nooyi, and Reckitt Benckiser CEO, Rakesh Kapoor, who are steering global companies arousing business dynamics shifting from developed markets to emerging markets, like India. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Indian School of Business and serves on the Supervisory Board of ING Group NV. He has also been awarded with the Asia Business Leader of the Year in 2008 by CNBC Asia.
