Vikram Pandit, Citigroup's India-born chief is proclaimed to be one of the worst-ever CEOs in all time history of the corporate industry. He is not solely responsible for the downturn of the company, but can be termed as the bad commander who was ill equipped to save his firm. The time he joined the firm, it was already on track to report write-downs and increased credit costs of $20 billion. In 2009, he testified to the Congress that he had declared to his board of directors to make his salary $1 per year with no bonus until the firm return to profitability.
