Often highlighted as the dark, creepy and menacing characters with an affinity for gothic fashion and a taste for blood that can never be entirely doused, Vampires; nature doesn't lend itself to being a laughing riot, but occasionally we are gifted with exceptional bloodsuckers who find their affliction uproarious or atleast the viewers can. So many types of vampire movies are being made but this list is completely dedicated to the ones that have made you scream, but in laughter and some of the best vampire stuff ever made. Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat:
5 Funniest Vampire Flicks of All Times
Movies like these are, sadly, no longer made. While some say it is a good thing, it felt like mixed blessings for "Sundown" which was the last movie made by Vestron Pictures. It's an absolutely insane premise, which posits that all vampires in America have relocated to a small rural town- Purgatory and are surviving on self-produced blood substitute. (And mind you, all this was nearly 20 years before True Blood!) Alas, when the factory that manufactures the stuff has problems, they call in an outsider to help, one whose wife is the ex of one of the vampires, played by Maxwell Caulfield. The other biggies in the movie include late David Carradine as the head of the bloodsuckers, Bruce Campbell as a Van Helsing family member, and cameos from Deborah Foreman, Dana Ashbrook, and M. Emmet Walsh. The movie is full of unconventional characters and wacky, bizarre humour that constantly bounces between being a comedy, a Western and a farce.
