London : A 42-year-old Briton who eats hot dogs and ham for breakfast, chocolate bars for lunch, and sausages and chips for dinner weighs an astounding 370 kg and is probably the world's heaviest man.

Keith Martin is so large that he is bed-ridden and needs 18 medical professionals -- including ambulance staff, carers and nurses -- to look after him, the Daily Mail reported.

Eight ambulance workers regularly help hoist the man to a reinforced vehicle for frequent hospital visits close to his home in Harlesden, northwest London.

Martin also requires four carers to visit him twice a day and four nurses three times a week to wash him and monitor his health.

Martin reportedly became the heaviest man after the previous title-holder -- a 44-year-old Mexican weighing 570 kg -- went on a diet.

Manuel Uribe is, however, still listed as the heaviest man in the Guinness Records but is believed to have shrunk to around 200 kg.

Martin told Channel 5 in a documentary that his lifestyle was triggered by the death of his mother when he was a teenager.

"My mother died when I was 16 and I didn't care about anything after that and I couldn't care less about what happened to me... I ate anything and everything," he said.

"I blame myself. It was my fault and I hate what I have done to myself," he said.
