Kalanidhi Maran is the 'Sun of the South'. Well, there are obvious reasons, he is called such.

He is the media king of the South India, who not only owns 21 TV channels or 41 FM radio stations and a daily newspaper. He is the proud owner of the IPL team, 'Sunrisers Hyderabad' and has also firmed his grip in the aviation industry with 'SpiceJet' airlines.

In 2007, Maran stood in the twelfth rank of this list and this year, he stands on the twenty-eighth rank. 

9. Deepak Parekh, Banker

Deepak Parekh is considered as the guru of the leading housing finance company in India, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC).

It was in 1978, when Parekh joined HDFC and started making his mark in the financial firm. By 1985, he became the Managing Director of HDFC and by 1993, he got promoted as the Chairman of HDFC. It was under his leadership; HDFC overthrew the SBI and eventually became the largest lending firm in India.

In 2011, Parekh stood strong in the fifth position of this list.
