12 Years of Govt. Service, Dy Collector worth 118 Crore


The drama occurred for nearly three hours during which the ACB team called up the Vile Parle police for help. Later, officials had to break open the main door of Nitesh's flat; a fabricator was also requisitioned to sever iron grilles of his house. Nitesh was also arrested by the crime branch a year ago for threatening a builder over a financial dispute.

The most remarkable discovery was that details of a company called Acecard Infrasol Pvt Ltd, in which Thakur has an 80 percent stake, with his mother and brother holding the remaining 20 percent.

Investigators believe that Thakur accumulated his wealth by misusing his position as a deputy collector with state revenue department.

According to documents with ACB, the company had started with a capital of Rs 10 lakh in 2008, but within a few months it had opened fixed deposits worth Rs 30 crore in two separate banks.

The company then in less than two years had its bank account showing that it earned Rs 57 crore. Investigators also found fixed deposits worth Rs 11 crore in the name of another one of his firms, Siddhivinayak Enterprises.
