Ford Ecosport: The Ford Ecosport is undoubtedly an ideal compact SUV that is preferred for family requirements in India. The U.S. manufacturer was the first to introduce compact SUV to the Indian market earlier this year and ever since its launch, the car is been in great demand with long waiting periods. The Ecosport has been loved for its compact size and interiors with a huge boot space and good leg room.  At present, the EcoSport is available in three engine variants including 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol (awarded the engine of the year) 1.5-litre Ti VCT petrol and a 1.5-litre DV5 diesel.  Besides, the Ecosport also comes with a SYNC feature built by Microsoft where you can just play songs or even call friends on your call list. Ford has acclaimed mileage of 13.07 km to 16.15 km per liter and you can take this SUV home with the price tag of 11lakh.

Mahindra Scorpio: Since its launch way back in 2002, the Mahindra Scorpio has gone from strength to strength with substantial modifications and responsive diesel engines. Scorpio has single handedly turned Mahindra's fortunes in the Indian auto market and has gone on to be the most popular SUV from the flagship Mahindra & Mahindra. The Scorpio is available in diesel version only. It is powered with a 2.2 L mHawk engine, which gives out a displacement of 2179cc. The 4 stroke turbo charger engine of Scorpio offers an imposing power of 120bhp at 4000rpm and 290Nm at 1800-2800rpm. Mahindra Scorpio comes with great quality interiors which are elegant and impressive. The company claims that the Scorpio offers a very impressive mileage in city road as well as highways with 10.5 km and 15.4 km per liter respectively. It is also rumored that India's leading SUV maker is planning to launch the updated Scorpio facelift by the end of first quarter of 2014 with a price tag of 7.82-12.32 lakh. The vehicle has already been spotted testing on the Indian streets.
