Wealthy Indians Prefer to Buy Home Overseas

Seeking promising location abroad is also an important factor. Usually, Indians mostly travel to places like Singapore, Dubai and London. "One of these three usually figures as the first place they visited when they went abroad and is also the first place they look to invest,” according to Mona Jalota, Chief Associate, International Project Marketing, at Knight Frank, reports Forbes.

Apart from these preferable destinations, home buyers are also seeking abroad properties depending on places where their children go for higher studies.  Such university towns are Michigan, Urbana-Champaign, Ann Arbor and Illinois.

In the last 10 years, property investment in India has been an ultimate option to fetch good return on investment. Over the last couple of years, real estate industry has shown better performance than other assets class.

In India, rental yields are less than the global average. Therefore, when planning to buy property abroad, buyers need to keep in mind that abroad property might take longer time for price appreciation but the rental yields are more than those in India. This means, it is equally worth to park your investment in property abroad.
