Bangalore: Sameer Patel, an Indian American social computing and technology expert has recently joined SAP, a business software firm based in U.S. He is appointed as the global Vise President and will be in charge of the solutions and go-to-market for collaboration and social software. SAP is intended to enable companies to reap the results of social technologies so as to take their businesses ahead.

‘’With a pedigree in core business process, business intelligence and industry solutions, and a decisive go forward strategy that now includes real time processing, cloud and mobility, SAP’s product and solution portfolio is one of the few that affords the needed canvas to improve how we engage with customers and partners and how work really gets done internally,’’ says Sameer Patel.

Sameer is a former employee of The Sovos Group. He was the fellow partner at Sovos and worked for many prominent companies such as Intel, Nike and McKesson to plan business transformations with the help of social computing constructs and technology.

Talking through collaboration and functionality perspective Sameer says “The right design will come from the proper infusion of collaborative constructs right where business context emerges for individual users at every customer – a) not just inside or alongside but across applications that power complete each business activity, b) when and where real time business intelligence emerges, and finally, 3) at the right (device agnostic) points of consumption. Each of these contextual elements are core to SAP’s portfolio of offerings today – both directly and via its partners.’’

Earlier, Sameer also worked as the managing director of Span and director of Strategy and Business Development at LiquidThinking.
