Bibhu Mohapatra
Bibhu Mohapatra is a New York settled Indian fashion designer who has won the hearts of thousands of fashion lovers with his simple and classic designs which reaches out to a large audience. There are numerous Hollywood style icons such as Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchet and Sienna Miller who have experienced the trendy and stylish sense of this Orissa-born guy and according to Glenn Close, Bibhu is someone who is "really talented".
His contributions to the famous brand, ‘J Mendel’ helped him to become a popular figure in the fashion industry; he also proved the fact that Indians can be equally successful in fashion business in U.S. like any other aspiring designers.
Mohapatra might be settled abroad, but his dream is to come up with an ‘India-inspired collection’. "I am inspired by the modern woman who appreciates beautifully crafted clothes. I'd define my work as a juxtaposition of opposites, such as hard and soft, tailored and draped, masculine and feminine," he says, reports Times of India.
