Bangalore: Water, Sixth Sense, Namesake and Fire are some of the movies which were discussed by movie lovers and critics all over the world, for the creativity and uniqueness involved in them. And it is a matter of pride and honour to notice that these movies which got established on a global platform are directed by Indian directors in America.

Water

The movie directed by Deepa Mehta, was released in the year 2005 and is the third part of the famous ‘Elements Trilogy’ by Mehta(preceded by Fire and Earth).The movie revolves around the lives of widows at an ashram in Varanasi and has Seema Biswas, Lisa Ray, John Abraham, and Sarala Kariyawasam in the lead roles. It got numerous recognitions such as Golden Kinnaree Award at Bangkok International Film Festival for Best Film, the Silver Mirror Award at Festival Films from the South in Oslo and was nominated for the Oscars as well.
