Webklipper raises Series A funding from IAN
Mumbai: Mumbai-based Webklipper Technologies, which operates WebEngage that offers online surveys and feedback tools for e-commerce sites, vertical search sites and blogs, has raised its first round of funding from IAN (Indian Angel Network). The round of funding was led by Google India chief Rajan Anandan in his personal capacity. Other investors include Sunil Kalra, Sadeesh Raghavan, Ashim Mehra, Nitin Singhal, Pradeep Gupta and Harish Mehta. With the current round of investment, Anandan has joined the companies board of directors. The fund will be used for expanding product offering, creating technology differentiators, marketing and human capital. Webklipper was co-founded in 2010 by ex-burrp engineering team members. In May 2011, they launched WebEngage as a DIY SaaS platform that integrates on your site as a Javascript widget and is available in six languages. Avlesh Singh, co-founder and CEO, Webklipper, said that they knew that WebEngage has come out of private beta and closed deals with 400 web businesses including Cleartrip, Future Group, One97 and JustEat Global. The investment will help them to accelerate growth and expand in markets outside India. Singh has six years of experience in products and technology and handles the role of office administration, salesman, designer and developer for the company.
