Entrepreneurs Who Were Sent To Jail

But when this power is not handled in a positive way, it drives them to illegal activities. There has been so many examples of powerful entrepreneurs manipulating circumstances for their favor, which later led them to jail. However, there were few such entrepreneurs who were sent to jail due to the fault of others. Below mentioned are few such entrepreneurs.

Huang Guangyu

Huang GuangyuThe Chinese tycoon Huang Guangyu was sentenced to 14 years for bribing and insider trading. He is the founder and former Chairman of GOME Group, one of China’s largest consumer electronics retailers. Guangyu was accused of paying $675,000 in bribes as well as insider trading including the charges of bribing to get GOME’s stock market listed in Hong Kong.

Further he was also being charged with alleged stock market manipulation and he had to resign from his post of Chairman in 2009. Guangyu has also been penalized with a fine of $600,000,000 and confiscation of $200,000,000.
