Triumph Reincarnates 1959 Bonnie T120

Powering the motorcycle is an 8-valve, fuel-injected, 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine churning out an impressive 105 Nm of peak torque and 79 BHP. The power delivery to the rear wheels is accomplished by a six speed manual gearbox. Both the ends come with Kayaba suspensions, each offering 120 mm of travel which would be sufficiently effective in smoothing rides over any rough patches thrown at it. To enhance the comfort level of the bike Triumph has made the handlebars a bit taller, placing them closer to the rider. The footpegs are positioned slightly forward and about an inch lower than the previous model that add to the ride comfort of the bike. The lowered footpegs do take away some of the cornering capability off this bike, but one has to remember that Bonneville is not made to attack corners. The 310 mm twin disks out front and 255 mm single disk at rear effectively offer the bite required to bring the bike to stall when the need arises.

Triumphs have been known for the engine refinement they offer, and ride-by-wire offered in the new Bonneville nicely compliments this through a smooth linear power delivery. The bike also comes with ABS, traction control, a slip-assist clutch, two ride modes (Road and Rain) and a USB charging socket. The two ride modes, as one would expect, don’t alter the power output, but dials the throttle response down in the Rain mode. Triumph has offered three modes of heated grips for the T120, a feature not commonly encountered in this segment. The instrument console is a LCD/analog twin unit. The LED DRL headlamps are traditional Bonneville round.

To aid the custom taste of a rider the manufacturer is offering over 160 custom accessory options. Triumph has included a “Prestige inspiration kit” that offers authentic chrome '4 bar' tank badge, ribbed and stitched black seat, compact LED indicators, chrome Vance & Hines peashooter slip on silencers, black 'Barrel style' handlebar grips; chrome clutch cover, alternator cover and throttle body embellishers. The bike is offered in four colour schemes - Cranberry Red and Aluminium Silver, Jet Black and Pure White, Jet Black and Cinder Red.
