Honda CB500F

Expected launch - First half of 2015

Having already launched during the recently held EICMA event at Milan, Italy, the CB500F is part of the Honda’s upcoming 500cc trio which includes the CBR500R and CB500X.

The CB500F is powered by the same 500cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine that also powers the 2013 Honda CBR500R and 2013 Honda CB500X.The motorcycle features newly programmed fuel injection, which can produce 47bhp and 43Nm. The front suspension has a 41mm fork with 4.8 inches of travel whereas the rear suspension is a Pro-Link single shock with nine-position spring preload adjustability. This motorcycle is the naked version of the CBR500R and Honda thinks that, it could well give its competitors like KTM a run for their money.

Yamaha YZF-R25

Expected launch - First half of 2015

Expected price - 2 lakh - 2.5 lakh

Yamaha unveiled this most anticipated 250cc bike at the 3rd Tokyo Motor Show on November 20, 2013 and later showcased the concept version, at the Auto Expo 2014, which took lot of liking by the Indian bike lovers. The company also made it clear that the Yamaha R25 will come to India and other Southeastern countries by the first half of 2015.

The R25, with its high performance engine and M1-like styling, is powered by 249cc, and is expected to churn out a maximum power of 35+bhp and 28+Nm of torque. The RC25 will be positioned and offered as an entry-level model in the sport bike category for developed markets like Japan and Europe and will be listed performance sport bike for emerging markets like India and other Asian countries. The R25 will compete with the KTM RC200 in its segment.
