Then don’t miss out watching Kalaripayattu, the martial art of ages.  Derived from Sangam literature, Kalaripayattu describes both a battlefield and combat arena where each warrior in the Sangam era received regular military training. Mainly practiced in central parts of Kerala and Tulunad region of Karnataka, it is believed to be the oldest of its kind.  Vedic sage Agastya is considered as the founder and patron saint of the marital art along with Lord Parasurama.
