Golden Temple

Golden temple is also fondly referred as Sri Harmandir Sahib, and is the holiest Gurdwara for Sikhs. It is located in Amritsar and was founded by Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh guru in 1577. This is a two storied building lamented with 400Kg of gold. Thousands of tourists visit this place every day to get a feeling of being close to God.

Jallianwala Bagh

Jallianwala Bagh is a standing monument of the incident reminding British brutality and Indian freedom moment. It is a public garden in Amritsar and a memorial of national importance. On April 13, 1919, under the command of Colonel Reginald Dyer, British army open fired on 20-25 thousand of peaceful protesters that resulted in a death of over a thousand people. This atrocity by Britishers is known as the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and it provided a push to Indian freedom movement. There is a regular flood of tourists here daily to pay tribute to martyrs of that massacre.
