What Sushant Singh Rajput's Career Leap tells us about Successful Career Change


BENGALURU: Every person at some point of the time will have to make certain decisions in their life that may completely change their life upside down. In our professional lives, the toughest decision we take is regarding career change. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput faced this dilemma while leaving television career when he was at his peak as Manav Deshmukh in immensely popular daily soap Pavitra Rishta. Sushant attended Delhi Technological University to study mechanical engineering and then he discovered that his passion lies in acting not engineering. He left college to pursue his career in acting. He started doing groundwork by joining Barry John’s acting school to learn the basics of acting. He opted for making a base for his future career despite just mindlessly following his decisions.

His career started from theater moved to TV and then made a huge leap in to silver screen, by learning new thing and enhancing acting skills at each and every stage of his acting profession. He took small steps, but kept his eyes on a bigger role. Ekta Kapoor gave him a break as a lead character in her serial Pavitra Rishta by spotting him at the theater stage. This step tells us that never shy of taking smaller jobs because they will help you to reach the foremost goal.

Sushant is a very good dancer and participated in various dance reality shows, where he was applauded by the celebrity judges for his dancing skills. He learned martial arts, made six-packs, and learned ballet dance. He nurtured his skills at every stage and never held himself back from learning new things. Therefore, to attract more potential employers, you need to focus on learning new skills.

The role of Manav Deshmukh in Pavitra Rishta was going very well, but after two years he took a brave decision to leave the show because he realized that there is no more opportunity of learning there. After thinking through, he left the show when Kai Po Che was offered to him, where he played the character of Ishaan. His decision of leaving the successful TV show for a film tells us that let your brain decide what you want to do instead of your heart.

In his short but illustrious career Sushant has acted in three big banner movies- Kai Po Che, Sudh Desi Romance and Detective Byomkesh Bakshi. In his short cameo role of Sharfraz he left a mark. Now, Sushant is playing the titular role of Indian Cricket team captain MS Dhoni in his Biopic. In an interview, he said that to prepare for a role of cricketer he took training from Kiran More. He said that current situation matters instead of the destination. He followed the mantra to focus and enjoy the journey instead of bothering about the destination.
