Renault's Entry-Level 'Kwid' Hatchback to Launch on Sep 24


BANGALORE: Renault is expected to launch its newest global compact hatch back –Kwid in the Indian market. The launch of this upcoming car is one of the most anticipated in the year 2015, that bookings has already started weeks before its release, reports Zigwheels. 

It is most likely to be the first undersized sub-4 metre hatchback from the French carmaker introduced to the Indian market is said to be priced 3 to 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). For its price, Kwid is loaded with features that comprises of an all-digital instrument cluster, touch screen infotainment system that comes with USB connectivity and AUX, power windows for the both front seat passengers central locking and many more. It shares a likable similarity to SUV’s as the Renault Kwid comes with a tall design. Another interesting look is the front deign fashioned with a big Renault badge notably positioned on the bulky front grille. An 800cc 3-cylinder petrol engine is said to power the Kwid hooked with a recently developed 5-speed manual gearbox.

The 3-pot mill produces 54PS of power at a reasonably decent 5,678rpm with a max torque, rated at 72Nm at 4,386rpm. With the weight of the car at just 660kg, it receives a remarkable power to mass ratio of 85PS per tonne. In addition, it has been acknowledged with an ARAI certified competence figure of 25.17kmpl making it the most efficiently built petrol car across the country. The newest Renault Kwid hatchback is ready to take on rivals Maruti Alto and the Hyundai Eon.
