Mahindra All Set To Launch the Thar Facelift On July 22


BANGALORE: Mahindra has confirmed the date to roll out its 2016 Thar with cosmetic upgrades. The Indian automaker would launch entry level model of the SUV range on July 22, reports IndiaToday.  

The facelift version of the off-roader, Thar, will feature redesigned front & rear bumper, spoke steering wheel, two additional cup holders and newly designed bonnet.

On the inside, the car gets a completely new, dual tone dashboard replacing the old archaic one and will have center console with circular HVAC vents. The handbrake lever, steering wheel, AC controls are same as the Mahindra Bolero.

Furthermore, the facelift version will have revised wheel arch trim and a re-sculpted bonnet. The biggest change at the back will be the slightly raked, all-new soft top.

The present two variants, CRDe and DI, are available in the market. CRDe is powered by a 2498 cc four cylinder diesel engine churning out 105 bhp, 247 Nm of torque, while the 2.5-litre DI generates generating 63 hp and 182.5 Nm torque. Both engines are coupled with five-speed manual transmission in 4×2 and 4×4 versions. The prices are expected to be between 5.1 lakh and 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom).
