India's Top 7 Affordable Bikes Launched This Year


BANGALORE: As 2014 comes to an end, there is a need to mention the huge bike market that made huge profits this year. These bikes that have brought incredible revenue for their respective companies are not the high end modelsthat cost huge sums of money, but are the bikes that are affordable and are part of the 100-110 cc categories. These bikes are the most affordable bikes that have been selling like hot cakes though the year, well here a list of these bikes compiled by Rediff.com.

Hero’s iSmart:

One of the largest Motor bike Corporations in the world, HERO, launched an upgraded version of the Splendor series. This bike called the Splendor iSmart is priced at less than 50,000. This bike has just about the same features from the Splendor NXG, but the only change it has is a sportier paint job, visor and handles bars.

The bike also comes with the latest i3s technology for start and stop to increase mileage. The bike is powered by a 100-cc air-cooled four stroke single cylinder engine that gives out 7.9bhp at 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 8.04Nm. It is eco-friendly and automatically switches off when not in use. This bike is a complete revamp of Hero’s Splendor series bikes.

Splendor Pro Classic:

Another bike from the house of Hero, this bike is the Pro Classic in the Splendor series. The bike has a unique design that resembles the looks of the Royal Enfield’s latest café racer. The bike is powered by an air-cooled 97.2cc single-cylinder engine which churns out 8.2bhp and 8.05Nm of torque of power.
