Ford Gears Up With Three New Car Launches In India

BENGALURU: Ford Motor Co. is gearing up with launch of three new cars and the Ford Aspire will be the first car to roll out this August. With this thorough outbreak in less than nine months the company is all set to rev up the sales in India, reports Blogs.wsj.

The First will be Ford Figo Aspire that shall be a new entrant by the company into the list of highly competitive compact sedans.

FEATURES OF FIGO ASPIRE

-1.2-liter gasoline or a 1.5-liter diesel engine

-Both the engines have five-speed manual transmissions.

-A 1.5-liter gasoline engine version (a six-speed automatic transmission) is an addition too.

- Dual air bags across all versions but the top-end will feature six air bags.

- “Hill Launch Assist”, a feature that holds the vehicle for up to three seconds as the driver’s foot moves from the brakes to the accelerator.

- Electronic stability program, antilock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and automatic climate control option.

EXPECTED MILEAGE OF FIGO ASPIRE

- 25.83 Kmpl for the 1.5-liter diesel version.

- 18.2 Kmpl for the 1.2-liter - 17.2 Kmpl for the 1.5-liter

Others cars in the lineup include, the Figo hatchback and the muscular 2015 Ford Endeavour which is expected to go on sale by the end of the year.

Sales of Ford vehicles in India fell 29 percent i.e. to 14,184 units during April to June 2015, according to data compiled by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. Followed by an 11 percent drop the fiscal year ended March from a year earlier to 75,138 vehicles sold.
