BANGALORE: From the house of Fiat, comes Abarth Punto making news of its launch as affirmed by the reports on the web which indicate that the Italian auto maker is all set for the release of its powerful hatch Punto on 19 October in India, Ibtimes.
It has been observed that several other dates are also linked to the launch of Abarth Punto however, all of which suggest the release in October is the most probable launching period.
Fiat dealers have already begun accepting bookings for the newest Abarth Punto with a down payment of Rs 50,000 as the model is anticipated to be around Rs 10 lakh.
Abarth Punto powerful hatch is equipped with 1.4-litre T-JET turbocharged petrol engine that is expected to give out 145bhp power at around 6,000rpm and 200Nm torque at 1,750rpm. The similar engine will also be seen in the Abarth Avventura and is likely to roll out by the year end.
The Italian model comes with fuel efficiency of 16.3 kmpl which is enabled to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph within eight seconds and is expected to be coupled to a five-speed gearbox. The Fiat Abarth Punto which is presented in two colors, black and white is said to carry upholstery along with a distinguished stitching in red and yellow which complements the sportier steel pedals. On the outside Scorpion decals on roof and 16-inch alloys adds to the sporty look.
In terms of safety features Abarth Punto is said to come with anti-lock braking system, dual air bags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).
