Bike That Lets You Take Off 10 Feet In Air


BANGALORE: Have you ever imagined a flying bike? If not, it’s a reality now and the bike is all set to take off in 2017. The California based Aerofex has now provided the long awaited form of transport and will soon be arriving as Aero-X hoverbike with an estimated price of $85,000. In fact the company has even commenced the pre-booking, with refundable deposits of $5,000 on its official website, reports PTI.

The flying bike maker Aerofex which has been testing its hoverbike for some time now and is designed to carry two people up to a height of 3m that is about 10 ft above the ground and reach speeds of up to 72 km/h which is about 42 mph. With  carbon fiber rooter set up in place of wheels, the AERO-X will be able to take-off and land at remote locations without the need for a runway.

The Aero-X is nothing different from a normal motorcycle, as it is designed to get the typical handlebar grips, situated at knee level, to control the hoverbike . With a pre-fuel weight of about 356 kg, the company officials claimed that the hoverbike is designed to carry a load of 140 kg over any given surface. Additionally, it’s also projected to run for about 75 minutes on a full tank of fuel. Although it's primarily being designed to be a low-altitude flyer, the Aero-X can be adapted for any number of uses.

The other features that sum up the Aero-X is that it has been integrated by the designers with a pilot interface, two-position control bars along with a four-wheel gear. The Aero-X hoverbike is around 14.8 ft in length and 6.8 ft in width. Some of the other additional features that are being hooked up under its hood include the completely vetted airbags, flotation pontoons a feature that is designed to work during water operations and Department of Transport-approved transport trailers.
