With bookings already open across all its dealerships in India, Land Rover is all set to launch the new Discovery Sport luxury SUV this September. Although it was unveiled globally in September 2014, the new Discovery Sport is set to be a replacement for Freelander 2, which has not had a good customer acceptance.  

The new Discovery Sport will be a compact 7-seater SUV that will be powered by a 2.2-litre turbo engine that powers out 140PS of power and 400Nm of torque and will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Buyers will also get to choose two-wheel and four-wheel drive options depending on the drivetrain selected.

The new Discovery sport will come in four variants that include S, SE, HSE and HSE Luxury. Some of the standard safety features include ABS, Electronic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control and Electric Brake Distribution.
