10,000 Students To Participate In Techno-Cultural Festival


KOCHI: Nearly 10,000 students from 50 colleges across India will take part in the annual Techno- Cultural Festival 'Advay '15' to be held for two days at the Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST), from February 23.

The event, being organized by TIST with the support of various organisations, will be a platform for the students to showcase their talents in various technical and cultural activities, a TIST press release said.

Nearly 50 events, including performances by some of India's best professional artistes, have been lined up for this year's festival. Performance by music band Lagori is one among the many programmes which will be held in the 'Professional Show segment of Advay '15.

"The aim of the event is to inculcate ingenuity and innovative abilities among the students and encourage them to explore the world beyond textbooks and academic activities", TIST Principal Dr D Vincent H Wilson said.

The event will also have exhibition stalls showcasing a wide range of products to the visitors. The festival was started in 2009 as a platform for the students to showcase their talent and share their knowledge in various cultural, technical and educational fields.
