# Ted Williams

Ted Williams was an American professional baseball player, and manager. Williams is regarded as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. He was a two-time American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP), six-time batting champion, 17-time All-Star, and a two-time Triple Crown winner.

He finished his career with a .344 batting average, 521 home runs, and a .482 on-base percentage, the highest of all time. His batting average is the highest of any MLB player with 302 or more home runs.

Williams served as a Naval Aviator during World War II and the Korean War. In Korea, Williams flew 39 combat missions before being withdrawn from flight status in June 1953.

# Dwight F. Davis

Dwight F. Davis was an American tennis player and politician. He is best remembered as the founder of the Davis Cup international tennis competition.

Davis teamed up with Holcombe Ward and won the Men's Doubles title at the championships for three years in a row from 1899 to 1901.

He was a member of the U.S. team that won the first two competitions in 1900 and 1902, and was also the captain of the 1900 team. He served President Calvin Coolidge as Assistant Secretary of War (1923–25) and as Secretary of War (1925–29). Davis then went on to serve as President Calvin Coolidge’s Secretary of War and Governor General of the Philippines.
